Major Variants of Roulette

European roulette: Of all the variants of roulette available online, this variant is by far the most popular. The game does not differ from other Roulette variants in terms of game rules. But in the European version, the table consists of 36 sections, each numbered. Somewhat fewer than in the American variant, for example. 18 of the sections are red, 18 sections are black and the last section with the number zero (0) is green. As with all other variants of the game, you can make a variety of bets. Some examples include investing in a single number, investing in color or investing in odd or even numbers. The fact that this type of roulette only has a green field (0) means that the house has a lower advantage compared to the variants, for example the American, which has two such fields. In European roulette, the house advantage is 2.7%.

American Roulette

When the French tried to introduce European Roulette to the United States, there was no major hit. It turned out that casino operators did not want to contribute such a big advantage to the players compared to the house. The table in American roulette is very similar to European roulette, but has a distinct twist of its own. The big difference lies in the fact that an American roulette wheel has two green fields with the numbers zero (0) also called double-zero (00). This means that the wheel of American Roulette has 38 sections, that is, two more than you find in European roulette. This may seem like a small difference, but the fact is that it increases the house's advantage to 5.26%. The sum total is because you are less likely to win in American roulette than in the European variant, which of course means that European roulette is preferable to you as a player. Just like in European Roulette, the American variant offers several different ways to bet. 'Inside bets' and 'Outside bets' are some of the most common ways to bet.

French roulette

The French version of the game contains some interesting variations from the usual format of the game. A first superficial difference is that the table is red instead of green. Furthermore, the placement of the inserts on the table is slightly different. The numbers on the table did not associate with any particular color, which is an important contrast to the European and American variants of the game. However, both of these differences are superficial and do not affect the game significantly. Like European roulette, this game contains a total of 37 sections, one of which is the green field with the number zero. The house has the same advantage as in European roulette and also offers a surrender rule, which is an advantage for the player. Last but not least, the player has the opportunity to conduct so-called call bets.
